Yamazaki Whisky Prices & Investment Data
Yamazaki is the flagship of Japanese whisky at auction — since Suntory placed its age statements on allocation, secondary-market prices have consistently run far above retail. We track 14 Yamazaki bottlings with real auction data: average hammer prices, annualized returns, liquidity and transaction volume, refreshed monthly from four UK whisky auction houses.

About the Yamazaki distillery
Founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1923 near Kyoto, Yamazaki is Japan’s first malt whisky distillery and the heart of the House of Suntory. Its style layers orchard fruit and incense-like spice, with maturation in Japanese mizunara oak a signature. The global Japanese whisky boom of the 2010s — capped by Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013 being named world’s best whisky — collided with limited aged stock, putting the 12, 18 and 25 year olds on strict allocation and making Yamazaki one of the strongest performers in the whisky secondary market.
