About the Caol Ila distillery

Caol Ila has distilled on the Sound of Islay since 1846 and produces more spirit than any other Islay distillery — most of it destined for blends, above all Johnnie Walker. Its lighter, grassier take on Islay smoke has a strong following, and because comparatively little is bottled as single malt, the official aged statements, Feis Ile bottlings and Diageo Special Releases hold their value well at auction.
