About the Lagavulin distillery
Lagavulin has distilled on Islay’s south coast since 1816, between Ardbeg and Laphroaig. Its 16 Year Old is arguably the definitive sherried-smoke Islay malt, and demand for the distillery’s limited output — annual Feis Ile bottlings, the 12 Year Old cask-strength special releases, and anniversary editions like the 8 Year Old released for its 200th year — comfortably outstrips supply, which keeps its auction market consistently active.
