About the Old Pulteney distillery
Old Pulteney has distilled in the herring-port town of Wick since 1826, making it one of the northernmost distilleries on the Scottish mainland. Its self-styled “maritime malt” carries a briny, faintly oily character attributed to seaside maturation. The discontinued 17 and 21 year olds (the 21 was named world whisky of the year in 2012) and limited vintage releases are the bottlings collectors chase.
