About the Balvenie distillery

Balvenie was founded in 1892 in Dufftown, next door to sister distillery Glenfiddich, and like it remains family-owned by William Grant & Sons. It keeps more traditional craft in-house than almost any Speyside distillery — floor maltings, coopers and a coppersmith — and its honeyed, layered malt reaches collectors through the Tun 1401/1509 marriages, aged PortWood and DoubleWood expressions, and single-cask vintage releases.
